I matured just south of Stanthorpe, and while it’s a lovely place, and so i fully recommend a visit there, without a doubt, in the winter months it may get quite cold!
I used to be some wussy little kid (now I’m a wussy adult) and while I don’t mind the weather being cold, Personally, i don’t like being cold. Therefore I had an electric blanket. Sometimes I’d “forget” to transform it away, and yet be toasty warm and unwilling to put my toes out into the -5 mornings…
So I are aware of the appeal of your electric blanket, and just how nice it is for another thing to become keeping you warm on those quite chilly nights. However, it isn’t really healthy.
The major reason electric blankets aren’t healthy will be the obvious one: it’s a fire risk. Because they’re folded / rolled up half the year, and also on a bed with bodies lying ahead and having wrinkled for area of the year, the wiring can be used within fair level of stress. With age, the insulation round the wires can be brittle or broken, which can lead to shocks on the sleeper, or short-circuits and potential fires.
The second best practice to minimise chance of fires or shocks from best electric mattress pad is to get it checked each and every year, prior to using it, by a qualified electrician. They will look at the visible wiring and connections, and test the voltage and current, that can indicate whether there’s a shorter circuit, and inform you accordingly. If in ANY doubt, throw it!!
Another major reason you should reduce electric blanket use is simply because it may produce a high electrical and electromagnetic field, in which you’re sleeping. Or trying to. The body communicates electrically, and electrical or electromagnetic fields could cause insomnia, restless or non-restful sleep, that “jumping” feeling you sometimes enter muscles, anxiety and quite often nightmares.
Of course, the 2nd best way to reduce these risks is usually to shut down the electrical blanket before getting in bed, or otherwise within 5 minutes to getting in. This will also prevent b1ankets in the middle of the evening within a hot sweat… something I have done often times like a forgetful child!
You’ll note I’ve said these choices are second best. That’s because the best option is obviously never to make use of an electric blanket whatsoever.
How many other choices are there? Well, there’s always that lovely standby, the water bottle. They are awesome, cheap, you can find really cute and cosy covers for them, and they hold the added bonus which you can use them like a COLD water bottle in summer.
